Hospital Sao Sebastiao Improving Anywhere, Anytime Medical Services with Nortel Network Upgrade
Wireline and Wireless Technology Improve Healthcare Quality and Service
The Hospital de Sao Sebastiao in Santa Maria da Feira, Portugal, will improve its patient care through an electronic paperless medical environment supported by a secure, reliable and always-on network with new mobile communications capabilities from Nortel(1) (TSX: NT) (NYSE: NT) Healthcare Solutions. The new high-performance IP solution from Nortel will provide Hospital de Sao Sebastiao with the increased bandwidth required for new medical healthcare applications, like Picture Archiving and Communications systems (PACS), for improving real-time patient critical care in ways its previous network was unable to support.

Advanced mobility solutions assist in the reduction of errors by capturing and delivering critical medical data at the point of care and allowing staff to spend more time on patient care and less time chasing clinical information. More than 120 access points will give full coverage to the Hospital campus.
